Day 42

The volunteers who visited Agra this weekend got back safely. However, apparently it was an eventful fourteen hour train ride coming home including a runaway and a suicide attempt.

Despite a young man's attempt to commit suicide by jumping in front of the moving train, he survived….

….But the impact left him torn in half.

Everyone on the train had to be escorted off so that his legs could be located underneath the train. Once his legs were located on the tracks, everyone was escorted back on the train, including the man and his legs which were taken to the nearest city with a hospital.

The mangled pieces of body were one car up from where Kerry sat and, although she is glad she didn't see any part of him, she says she could smell him the rest of the way home.

This bit of news gives me all the confidence in the world in our twelve hour train ride from Udaipur to Agra this upcoming Wednesday night. If that is the kind of luck Kerry has, then anything and I mean ANYTHING has the potential of happening when Allie, Ariana, and I are boarded on a train together

alone…

for twelve hours...

minimum….

Wish us luck, because we will be needing it.
